GatherX
Mine, fish, hire, and chop down a beanstalk full of giants: Adam Vierra's 2014 Flash idle.
by Adam Vierra (AdamRV) · February 2014 · Web (Kongregate, Ruffle)
GatherX is Adam Vierra's 2014 Flash idle with a Jack-and-the-Beanstalk brief: mine ore, fish, hire workers, and use the proceeds to cut down the beanstalk whose giants keep coming down it. It ran on Kongregate, Armor Games and Newgrounds, and the Kongregate build still plays through Ruffle, verified in this pass.
What the loop feels like
You gather, the workers gather faster, and the beanstalk gets shorter. That's GatherX.
Playing it today
Playable on Kongregate via Ruffle (the SWF loads and runs); Armor Games and Newgrounds pages are live though in-page play was not confirmed there. The Newgrounds card art above is the canonical imagery; Kong's PWA manifest only offers the generic Kong logo, which the research correctly skipped.
The verdict
A charming Flash-era gatherer with a real boss arc (the giants) and honest Ruffle-era playability: one of the smoother Flash survivals in this index.
