HackerNet
Boatware Studio's solo first project: tap the net's systems, hack them, buy upgrades. Free, offline, Godot-built.
by Boatware Studio (hackermannn) · 2021 · itch.io / Android / Amazon
HackerNet is Boatware Studio's first game, a short experimental clicker made solo in Godot: tap the systems of the net to hack them, take their money, buy the upgrades that hack faster. It is completely free, single-player and offline, and it lives on itch.io with the studio's site at boatware.xyz (both verified 200).
What the loop feels like
You tap a system, the system yields, and the upgrades hack bigger systems. That's HackerNet.
Playing it today
Free on itch.io, with Android and Amazon Appstore builds (ASIN B08SM6WS5H, per the official site). Original-resolution screenshots above; one honest note: no Google Play listing survives (the guessed package 404'd and is recorded as such), so the itch and Amazon links are authoritative.
The verdict
A small, sincere first project: an evening-long hacking idle that does exactly what it says, from a developer whose site says the same.
