Autocraft
A tiny idle RPG about a champion who loots, sockets gems into a shield, and fights while you do other things.
by Pixelabor · 19 Sep, 2023 · Windows
Autocraft is a very small idle RPG from Pixelabor, a developer whose store page cheerfully admits it works like their previous games: a champion farms resources and levels up on their own while you buy the upgrades. The developer frames it exactly right in the description: an idle game is a game you play by not playing, something to run while you work or watch television.
Released in 2023, it is one of the smallest entries in this catalogue, and this entry will treat it with the honesty that size deserves.
What the loop feels like
Your mighty champion auto-battles through waves without your supervision. Loot drops, gold accumulates, and the numbers on the left side of the screen get politely larger. That's Autocraft.
You spend the proceeds on gems, socket them into the shield for bonuses, study new skills, and keep a stock of potions for the rough patches, and the whole ceremony takes minutes, not hours. Also that's Autocraft.

The systems doing the work
The verb set is compact and the game does not pretend otherwise. Auto-battle is the engine: the champion fights, loots and levels while you are elsewhere, and your role is allocation. Gems are the upgrade currency, socketed into the shield for passive bonuses. Skills are studied to shape the champion between battles. Potions are the safety valve for the stretches where the auto-battler meets something it cannot out-farm. That is the entire system inventory, and the store page describes it with unusual candour: run it in a corner, glance at it occasionally, do not expect a hobby.
Where it stumbles
Reception is mixed with a small review base, and we will be plainer than the store page is. One honest gap: both of our AI Mode research passes failed to identify this game, and the criticism pass described a different game entirely, so no community criticism could responsibly inform this entry, and everything here rests on the store record. What remains is a micro idler with a short feature list and minimal presentation, aimed at players who specifically want something tiny running in a corner. There is no prestige layer, no depth progression, and no community to speak of. If that is not what you want, the developer has already given you permission to skip it.
Playing it today
Autocraft is on Steam, Windows only, published by Pixelabor. No mobile or browser versions exist. It is priced at pocket change, which suits the scale of what it is.
The verdict
A pocket-sized champion idler that makes no promises it cannot keep. There is very little here, and what is here is pleasant enough: a fighting, looting champion, a shield full of gems, and a price that matches the ambition. Treat it as a background trinket, not a hobby, and it will not disappoint you.
