Capitalist Pigs Idle Clicker

A satirical capitalist pig farming fortune: delisted, with its icon still served by Google's CDN.

by Comet Tail Games (Anthony J Coito) · 29 August 2017 · Android (delisted)

Capitalist Pigs Idle Clicker is Comet Tail Games' 2017 Android satire: click your capitalist pig to fortune, in the grand tradition of idle games that know exactly what they are mocking. It was removed from Google Play in November 2021, and the developer's site is dead. What survives is unusually complete for a delisted app: an archived store listing, all five official screenshots, and an icon that Google's image CDN still serves despite the delisting.

What the loop feels like

You tap the pig, the fortune grows, and the fortune buys the automation any self-respecting capitalist delegates. The trio is the genre's plainest: active clicking, idle progression, automation, all wearing snouts. That's Capitalist Pigs Idle Clicker.

The satire lives in the framing rather than the systems: the game never pretends the loop is anything but accumulation, and the pig is the joke doing the accumulating. That's Capitalist Pigs Idle Clicker.

The systems doing the work

The archived listing is the record, and this entry is its summary. The Wayback Machine holds the store page from August 2018 and November 2020, so the description, the screenshots and the package name (com.CometTailGamesLLC.CapitalistPigs) all survive even though the live web has swallowed the original. The mechanics sheet stays at the documented trio; the archived description is thin enough that anything more would be invention.

Where it stumbles

It stumbles out of existence, not design. The listing 404s, there is no web or Steam version, and the developer, Comet Tail Games LLC of Seattle, released it on 29 August 2017 and moved on; founder Anthony J Coito's company site is itself dead now, which makes the archived listing the last official trace of the whole operation. Whatever depth the game had is now unplayable and largely unrecorded.

Playing it today

Not through official channels. The 2020 archive of the store listing is the record, and this entry is its summary; there is no authorized way to install it and no successor release to point at.

The verdict

A historical entry: a small satirical Android clicker whose joke outlived its distribution. The pigs, at least, were saved for posterity.
