Golf Inc. Tycoon
Upgrade the fairway, hire the golfers, pocket the balls, and take the club international.
by Infinity Games · 15 Apr 2019 · iOS / Android
Golf is a rich person's sport, so it is fitting that the genre finally got a game about becoming the rich person. Golf Inc. Tycoon is Infinity Games' free idle from April 2019: start with one modest green, upgrade fairways and clubhouses, hire golfers with better swings than yours, and expand until the empire spans countries. It is a tidy little number-go-up machine wearing golf shoes.
What the loop feels like
Your course hums along, golfers swing at targets, and guests pay their fees. Stray balls litter the fairway, and tapping to collect them drops instant cash into the early upgrade fund, so the first sessions are part manager, part tidy-up. Reinvest into the clubhouse, watch the throughput climb, log off. That's Golf Inc.
The next morning there is a pile of offline income waiting. You reinvest it into fairway and vehicle upgrades, train your best golfer's accuracy another notch, and buy the deed to a new country. The new course looks familiar, the numbers are bigger, and the loop restarts. That's Golf Inc.
How it actually works
The build-and-upgrade economy covers fairways, clubhouses, amenities and transport vehicles, each raising guest throughput and profit. Active play means tapping to collect stray golf balls for cash bonuses, while the idle layer generates passive revenue even offline, rewarding frequent check-ins to bank major milestones. Staff management is the character layer: hire and train professional golfers, pushing their strength, shooting and accuracy attributes for better prizes per swing. Empire scaling unlocks international properties, and the whole thing rides the standard incremental curve of rising overheads against exponentially larger payouts. An optional Blue Membership subscription offers a permanent 2x earnings multiplier and daily premium rewards.
Where it stumbles
Players who push past the first courses report the game's central weakness: later worlds feel like the first ones with inflated numbers, so the sense of progression thins out exactly where an idle needs it most. Monetisation draws steady fire, with progression gates and daily challenges angled to encourage spending, and that weekly Blue Membership subscription is an aggressive ask for what the game offers. Veterans on the incremental communities rate it as a low-attention time-waster at best, pleasant for passive loops, hollow for anyone expecting genuine management depth or distinctive course design.

Free on both stores with ads, in-app purchases and the subscription, and still strongly rated by its casual audience, with thousands of App Store ratings skewing positive. Get it on the App Store for iOS or on Google Play for Android. If the tycoon itch survives the back nine, our AdVenture Capitalist entry remains the genre's cleanest loop, and Idle Miner Tycoon swaps fairways for shafts without losing the rhythm.
The verdict
A pleasant, undemanding golf idle that coasts on comfortable numbers and tidy presentation. Fine as a background habit, thin as a hobby, and priced to test how much you like it.
