Mining Copper
Dig coal by hand, buy the drilling machine, and smelt chalcopyrite into copper plates through eleven kinds of equipment.
by Yamate · 11 Nov, 2022 · Steam
Mining Copper is a single supply chain stretched into a game: collect copper ore, pass it through the smelting equipment, produce copper plates. Yamate's November 2022 idle (from the maker of Mining Factory) simulates the whole industrial path, from hand-dug coal to electrolysis tanks, and asks only that you click the button and buy more machines.

What the loop feels like
It starts humbly: you dig coal by hand, then by shovel, then by construction team and shearer, reselling coal for gold. Gold buys the real industrial kit, copper drilling machines, blasting machines, excavators, trucks, warehouse crushers, ball mills, classifiers, smelting units, flotation cells and electrolysis, and the ore begins its journey toward becoming copper plates. That's Mining Copper.
Then the whole plant learns to run without you. The design endgame is pure idle optimization, what the genre's Chinese-language tradition calls hanging up: leave the line running, let plates accumulate, and return to spend the gold on the next tier of automation. That's Mining Copper.
The named systems doing the work
The resource pipeline is linear by design: raw chalcopyrite, black copper ore and gravel move through specialized machinery to become high-value plates that feed the gold loop. The coal-to-gold seeding loop funds the early game. Equipment quantity scaling is the whole progression: the play guidance says to reasonably configure device numbers and switch off excess, balancing throughput against waste rather than buying blindly.
What we can and cannot verify
Honesty note: our community criticism research pass failed to identify this specific title (it returned copper-mining discussions from survival games instead), so there is no independent player-feedback data behind this entry, and the gap is flagged. What we can say from platform data: the game comes from Yamate, whose Mining Factory is also catalogued here with a barebones-presentation critique, and this title's own review pool is tiny and currently reads mostly negative. Expect the same tier of production: functional, minimal, cheap.
Playing it today
Mining Copper is on Steam for Windows, released November 2022 at a low budget price. No mobile release surfaced in our platform check. Pipeline idlers nearby in this catalogue: Mining Factory (same developer), A Mining Game and Incremental Factory.
The verdict
A museum of smelting equipment in idle form: educational in its way, playable for an afternoon, and thin everywhere else. Buy it only if the ore-to-plate pipeline fascinates you more than polish would.
