Rando'Knights
Buy, rank and display randomly generated pixel knights: Useless Corp's figurine gacha.
by Useless Corp · 24 September 2023 · iOS / Android
Rando'Knights is Useless Corp's pixel-knight figurine collector for iOS and Android, out since September 2023 and built in Godot. The premise is pure collection-loop comedy: spend money on randomly generated knight figurines, rank them by rarity, and put the best ones on display. A March 2025 update added a whole card-collecting layer on top, and the developer has stated plainly that there is no browser or computer version and may never be.
What the loop feels like
You buy a figurine blind, the box opens, and the knight inside is somebody: a legendary with a helmet like a soup tureen, or a common you already own three of. Rarity sets the rank, the museum shelf takes the good ones, and the shelf starts paying rent. That's Rando'Knights.
You come back to daily quests done, tokens banked, and a duplicate pile that has grown embarrassing. The Ritual takes the spares and upgrades a favorite, tickets buy a turn at the Anvil, and the feature upgrades you bought last week make every part of that sentence faster. That's Rando'Knights.
How it actually works
The economy is a four-currency tangle in the best idle tradition: money, tokens and tickets arrive from collections and daily quests, each feeding a different subsystem. The Ritual is the sink that matters, sacrificing figurines to upgrade the ones you actually like, which turns the gacha's duplicates from disappointment into fuel. The Anvil spends tickets, and the meta-layer of feature upgrades compresses the whole loop over time. The museum is the passive engine: exhibited figurines generate income proportional to how good they look, so the collection is literally the production base.
The monetization is unusually gentle for the genre: the developer estimates roughly ninety-five percent of content is free, with a single one-time unlock covering the rest, and no subscription anywhere. The card-collecting update bolted a second collection game onto the first, complete with its own albums to complete.
Where it stumbles
The random generator is the whole show, and it will eventually show you repeats of what it has, which makes late-session buying feel like paying for confetti. The humor is deadpan and thin, which lands perfectly for a while and then stops landing. And mobile-only is a hard limit: players who prefer a browser tab have been asking since launch and the developer's answer has consistently been that a desktop version would need a major UI rework, maybe later, not sure. As a figurine-collecting idle it has the field to itself, but that field is exactly one phone screen wide.
Playing it today
Free to download on iOS and Android, with the itch page, a Discord and a subreddit as the developer's hangouts. If the display-case income loop is your thing, Griddie Islands runs a similar collection-as-economy on a bigger canvas, and Joyquarium applies the same breeding-and-showcasing logic to fish.
The verdict
A small, funny, honestly monetized figurine gacha that turns the genre's duplicate problem into its central mechanic. Buy the knights, sacrifice the knights, become the museum.
