RPG Clicker
An unfolding adventure: penguinswin3's Angular 18 RPG clicker, live in a real browser.

RPG Clicker is penguinswin3's ASCII-terminal RPG incremental, a free browser game at penguinswin3.github.io/rpg-clicker built on Angular 18 and announced on the incremental games subreddit in 2026. It presents as a monospace terminal, cyan and gold on black, and the developer bills it honestly as a roughly ten-hour semi-active incremental that builds on itself with odd fantasy characters. The name collides with a dozen other games; this is the unfolding-adventure one.
What the loop feels like
You complete a bounty, gold lands, and the log narrates it in terminal green. Better Bounties makes each contract worth more, Contracted Hirelings make gold arrive per second, and the party screen fills with characters whose stats you did not expect to care about. That's RPG Clicker.
You come back to a hireling paycheck, a bounty board that has leveled with you, and an activity log filtering for RARE events because something unusual happened while you were gone. The ten hours announce themselves quietly, one upgrade at a time. That's RPG Clicker.
How it actually works
The visible systems are a bounty economy, a party, and a log. Clicking Complete Bounty converts contracts into gold, with the two named upgrades setting the genre-standard split: Better Bounties raises gold per bounty, Contracted Hirelings raise gold per second, the active-versus-idle fork every clicker eventually reaches. The party screen holds characters with stats, a PARTY VAULT sidebar tracks the roster, and the activity log tags every event INFO, SUCCESS, WARN, ERROR or RARE, with filters that turn the log itself into a reading game.
STATISTICS and OPTIONS panels round out the terminal, and the whole thing runs client-side on GitHub Pages with the source public on GitHub. The aesthetic is the real design statement: an ASCII fantasy RPG shell around clicker bones, closer in spirit to MUD-era interfaces than to modern web games, which makes the standard upgrades feel like found fiction rather than buttons.
Where it stumbles
It is early, solo-built and honest about being a first-scale project: the loop is the bounty fork and not much else yet, character stats matter less than the upgrade ledger, and players expecting deep party tactics will find flavor rather than systems. The semi-active pacing means idle progress is deliberately modest, so it wants tabs open and attention paid, which not every browser-idle player signs up for. And the genre is crowded with games named some variant of RPG Clicker, so half the difficulty is finding this one, a problem the developer did not create but cannot dodge either.
Playing it today
Free in the browser at the official page, verified live and rendering at research time, no account or install, source readable on GitHub. For companions in the text-and-terminal corner of the genre, Godville is the zero-player grandparent of the log-driven RPG, and idleSlime.text keeps the plain-text faith.
The verdict
A young, free, terminal-styled clicker with a clear voice and a ten-hour arc it mostly earns. Complete the bounty, hire the hirelings, and enjoy watching a developer build a genre entry in public.
