The Best Duck Clicker
A small, polished clicker about destroying ducks, converting the survivors into souls, and rebirthing into duck-master tiers.
by EVIL CORP GAMES · 2024 · Steam (Windows / Mac)
Somewhere out there is a duck, and it is your job to destroy it. Then another duck. Then, eventually, forty-plus ducks of escalating rarity, including aquatic ducks, master ducks and ducks that exist mostly to be converted into souls and ghosts. EVIL CORP GAMES released this in August 2024 for a couple of dollars, and it is exactly what the title promises: a small, polished clicker about punching pixel waterfowl until the numbers go up.
What the loop feels like
You click the duck. The duck takes damage, drops money, and sometimes a rarer duck waddles into its place. Money buys upgrades: click power, spawn rate, cooldown cuts, capture slots. Captured ducks sit in your pond generating idle income while the wild ones keep spawning for you to flatten. You bank duck souls, spend them on capture success, and hit a milestone that invites a rebirth. The counter resets, the new tier begins, the Mallard Masters wait at the top. That is the loop.
You notice the rare-spawn rate climb after an upgrade and start clicking a little faster. You notice a boost event fire and sprint to make the most of the window. You check back in ten minutes because a duck you captured has quietly earned enough money to buy three more upgrades. That is the loop too.
Under the feathers
The design choice that separates this from the average clicker pile is that passive income never fully takes over. Most modern idlers become background spreadsheets within an hour. Here, active clicking stays rewarding because spawn-rate upgrades raise the value of every click wave, and the community guide advice of investing early in spawn rates rather than raw click power genuinely holds. Rebirth timing matters too: rebirth too early and your soul yield is thin, wait for the upgrade curve to flatten and the next tier opens up much faster. Duck ghosts, a currency with no obvious real-world analogue, feed back into capture capacity, which feeds back into idle income. It is a tidy little economy shaped like a food chain where you are the apex predator.
Where it stumbles
This is a snack, not a feast. Community consensus lands the campaign at roughly seven to ten hours before it runs out of steam, and nobody is confusing it with the systemic sprawl of cookie clicker or melvor idle. The quests and timed events pad the midgame nicely, but if you bounce off the core click, nothing else will save it.
Playing it today
It is on Steam for Windows and Mac, developed and published by EVIL CORP GAMES, and it turns up discounted or bundled with other pocket idlers often enough that patient buyers pay almost nothing. No mobile versions surfaced in our checks, so this one stays at the desk.
The verdict
A model of what a small paid clicker should be: honest about its size, pleasant to look at, and balanced with actual care. If the phrase "destroy ducks for fun" makes you smile, it will earn its price.
