Banana Slicer

Slice bananas to get more bananas. A 2015 Android incremental, delisted but remembered.

by Banana Man Studios · 2015 · Android (delisted)

Banana Slicer was a 2015 Android incremental with the purest of pitches: slice bananas to get more bananas. Banana Man Studios shipped it, the r/incremental_games community briefly championed it, and Google Play eventually swallowed it whole.

The listing is dead now, verified 404 in this rewrite, with the Wayback Machine holding the last full view of the store page from March 2017. The archived listing is all that remains, plus the cover art and screenshot above, which still serve from Google's image CDN despite the delisting.

What the loop felt like

You swiped, the bananas fell to your blade, and the counter climbed with every stroke of your thumb. Swipes carried power, and power turned fruit into numbers. That's Banana Slicer.

Then the upgrades kicked in: bananas per second started climbing without you, the blades got sharper, and the operation graduated from kitchen work to industrial banana processing. Also that's Banana Slicer.

The systems doing the work

The documented skeleton is a swipe-driven slicer with the genre's standard two-layer economy: active swiping generated the base currency, and a passive bananas-per-second layer grew underneath as upgrades landed. The upgrade tree ran from sharper blades to industrial banana processing, which is the mobile-wave idler arc in miniature, personal effort compounding into a factory that does not need you. An honesty note on research: our AI Mode passes could not identify this specific title and returned generic clicker framework instead, so their content was discarded, and everything here rests on the archived store listing and the surviving imagery.

Where it stumbles

Mostly, it stopped existing. Version 1.07.03 was as far as development got before the store listing vanished somewhere between 2017 and 2020, and with it went any way to play, update or preserve the thing. As a 2015 Android incremental it carried the era's usual limits: a short upgrade ladder, simple art, and a loop that showed everything it had within an hour. The community championing it briefly, then moving on, is the whole lifecycle of a small mobile idler told in one paragraph.

Playing it today

You cannot. The Play listing is 404, there was no iOS, Steam or web release, and the game was never archived in playable form. What survives is documentary rather than interactive: the archived store page, the cover art, and the screenshot on this entry, courtesy of a Google image CDN that outlived the store page it illustrated.

The verdict

A historical entry for a small 2015 Android incremental: delisted, unplayable, but visually documented here thanks to Google's image CDN outliving the store page. The fruit salad of lost mobile incrementals gains another member, and this one at least gets a headstone with pictures.
