Billionaire Capitalist Tycoon

From broke to tycoon in Alegrium's 2013 mobile capitalist climb: delisted, archived, remembered.

by Alegrium · 2013 · iOS / Android (delisted)

Billionaire, by the Indonesian studio Alegrium, was an early-2010s mobile capitalist idle: climb from broke to tycoon through businesses, investments, and the occasional ethical compromise the game does not charge you for. The r/incremental_games wiki lists it as complete, 2D, iOS and Android, which is the entire surviving technical record.

What the loop felt like

You tapped, cash trickled in, and the trickle bought its first automated asset: a rickety desk and a basic computer becoming a money machine that ticked without you. That's Billionaire.

Then the investments got eccentric, robot butlers, private islands, the kind of purchases that exist to multiply per-second income, and the broke-to-tycoon arc completed itself while you watched. Also that's Billionaire.

The systems, as far as the record shows

The genre architecture it ran was the tap-and-wait standard of its vintage: manual tapping for the first income, automation assets layered on top, and an escalation of eccentric investments from modest businesses to high-tech and luxury tiers, each multiplying passive output. Random drops, floating delivery boxes and temporary booster events crossed the screen to reward active attention, and costs scaled exponentially, from mere hundreds into millions and billions, with avatar, office and tech upgrades supplying milestone multipliers rather than a harsh hard-reset prestige. An honesty note on research: our AI Mode passes centred on a different, better-documented bitcoin tycoon rather than this specific listing, so their output was discarded and this entry rests on the archived store record.

Where it stumbles

What killed it was not design but storefront hygiene. Both stores deleted it: the Google Play package 404s today, verified live in this rewrite, and by the time of its last good archived listing the game had already been renamed Billionaire Capitalist Tycoon, which tells you something about late-stage rebranding. As a 2013 mobile tycoon it carried the era's usual ceiling, a shallow late game and a business model built on ad boosts. The archive keeps the shape of the thing; the game itself keeps only whatever phones still carry it.

Playing it today

You cannot, through any official channel: the App Store and Google Play listings are both gone, and the APK landscape is the usual unsupported sprawl that this catalogue does not link to. The last good record of the listing is the Internet Archive's October 2022 snapshot, and the icon above was recovered from that capture.

The verdict

A historical entry: a delisted mobile tycoon whose store page survives only in the archive, remembered mostly as a clean example of the early capitalist-idle wave. If you still have it installed on an old phone, you are now the primary source, and the rest of us will have to take the wiki's word for it.
