Commodore Clicker
An incremental-driven C64 emulator: click to compute, one 8-bit machine at a time.
by idle-js-games org · 2015 · Web
Commodore Clicker is the idle-js-games org's maddest idea: an incremental game driving a Commodore 64 emulator. You click, the machine computes, and the C64 heritage does the aesthetic heavy lifting. MIT-licensed, open source, complete, and playable at idle-js-games.github.io/c64clicker or its own c64clicker.com.
What the loop feels like
You click, the 8-bit machine processes, and the clicks buy compute. That's Commodore Clicker.
Playing it today
Both hosts live (verified 200 in this rewrite). The banner above is the repo's only image asset; the game is canvas-rendered, so deeper screenshots would need live captures. This is a sibling project to Cosmiccom, from the same idle-js-games preservation family.
The verdict
A preservation-minded curiosity: retro-computing as an idle mechanic, with the license and repo to back it. For the C64 faithful and the genre historians.
