Dookie Clicker
Click the pile. Watch it evolve. Regret nothing, except maybe your life choices.
by ZR0H.EXE · 24 Sep, 2024 · Steam
Few games are as honest about what they are. Dookie Clicker hands you a steaming pile, dares you to click it, and promises that the pile will evolve into something greater if you keep at it. ZR0H.EXE released this Windows-only oddity in September 2024, and it sits happily in the grand tradition of toilet-humor clickers that exist to make you snort first and check your numbers second.
What the loop feels like
The first minutes are pure button-press comedy. Every tap lands on the pile, every burst of taps spits out more dookie, and the store page is not joking when it says your mission is to click the crap out of it. The numbers climb, the pile mutates into ever stranger forms, and the jokes get dumber exactly as fast as they get bigger. That's Dookie Clicker.
Settle in and the parody framing takes over. The game deliberately apes the classic idle formula: manual taps as your base income, then automated production once you can afford it, then a ladder of increasingly absurd upgrades stretching toward the horizon. It is the genre's most famous skeleton wearing a novelty moustache, and it knows it. That's Dookie Clicker.
How it actually works
The loop runs on two engines. Manual clicking generates your base currency per tap, and passive generators keep the output flowing while you are away, which is the standard incremental one-two. Community discussion highlights two things worth planning around. Active clicking feels weak once the early hours pass, so lean on passive income rather than finger stamina. And the balance hits a wall later on, where progression slows sharply and what remains is mostly the joke itself. Treat it as a short gag game with an idle skeleton rather than a long-haul numbers engine and it delivers exactly what the title promises.
Where it stumbles
Players are blunt about the ceiling. Clicking stays shallow and stops scaling satisfyingly after the first few hours, the late game walls hard, and if toilet humor does nothing for you there is no second layer of strategy or story to catch you. The package costs little and lasts about as long as the novelty does, which is either the point or the problem depending on your mood.
Playing it today
Dookie Clicker is a Windows-only Steam release from ZR0H.EXE, and no mobile or browser version was found at research time. If the parody hooks you and you want the deep version of the same loop, the giants it is riffing on are Cookie Clicker and Clicker Heroes.
The verdict
A one-joke clicker that is completely upfront about being a one-joke clicker. Buy it for the gag, idle through the walls, and move on grinning.
