Simple Multipliers
One generator, one progress bar, and multipliers that multiply multipliers in a hypnotically slow idle.
by PELMENI GAMES · 12 Apr, 2023 · PC (Windows)
Simple Multipliers is PELMENI GAMES’ 2023 Steam incremental, and it is aggressively true to its name: minimalist presentation, hardcore goals, and exponential math with nowhere to hide. Your empire begins as a single passive income generator whose progress bar takes about a minute to fill and dispense one point. From that humble tick, the entire game is multiplication, and eventually the multipliers themselves get multiplied. It is a meditative, hyper-focused numbers game for players who find joy in a progress bar and a spreadsheet’s soul.
What the loop feels like
The first scene is the crawl. You watch a bar fill once a minute, collect your single point, and reinvest it into production boosts, nudging the rate from one point a minute to slightly more than one point a minute, and the game asks you to be patient about it.
The second scene is the recursion. Converters and new generator types have come online, multiplier points stack on generators, and then an upgrade path unlocks that multiplies the multipliers, and the bar that once took a minute is now a blur feeding the next order of magnitude. That’s Simple Multipliers.

How it actually works
Progression layers three structures. Early currency goes into minor production boosts on the base generator. Mid-game unlocks converters and distinct new generators, each demanding its own investment. And once standard growth hits a wall, the prestige loop opens: spending accumulated multiplier progress on prestige upgrades that fundamentally raise the generation baseline and break plateaus that felt unyielding moments before. The endgame is long-tail and hardcore, backed by global rankings and Steam achievements for players dedicated enough to optimize the math. The community’s core advice is patience above all: the opening hours are exceptionally slow by design, so leave it running, check in occasionally, and let the exponential curve do what exponential curves do.
Where it stumbles
The pacing is the honest dealbreaker. Players consistently note that the opening hours crawl at a near-glacial pace, and the mechanics stay as barebones as the title promises, never evolving into minigames or active play. Casual players raised on feature-rich incrementals will bounce off the emptiness; the game’s hypnotic appeal is real, but it is strictly a niche product for the leave-it-running-for-days school.
Playing it today
It is a budget purchase on Steam for Windows from PELMENI GAMES, with a community hub for the math-minded. For the same skeleton with more meat, Simple Increment is its sibling and Cookie Clicker is the genre’s gold standard.
The verdict
A hypnotic, ultra-slow math toy that multiplies everything, including itself. Hardcore idle enthusiasts will lose days; everyone else will lose interest in the first hour.
