Teemo Slayer

The fan game about the only universally agreed League of Legends opinion: kill the Teemos.

by (teemoslayer.net team) · 2015 · Web (defunct)

Teemo Slayer was the fan-made web idle built on the one opinion every League of Legends player shares: Teemo must die. Released around 2015 by the unaffiliated team behind teemoslayer.net, it turned a running community joke into an idle game where champion icons were the kill targets and a subreddit kept the score. The site is defunct twice over now: HTTPS fails on every variant of the domain, and HTTP 301-loops straight into the dead HTTPS endpoint.

This entry sits in the abandoned section because there is no live game to send you to. The canonical reference is the August 2024 Wayback capture, which loads cleanly and preserves the game's own favicon, the single asset recovered from the site.

What it was

A League of Legends fan idle about killing Teemos, community-supported and Riot-unaffiliated, with the intellectual property caveat (League of Legends is copyright Riot Games, Inc.) recorded alongside the entry rather than hidden. Contemporary documentation describes a work-in-progress indie project: discussed on r/teemoslayer, documented on a dedicated Teemo Slayer Wikia, and followed on a Facebook page. The genre conventions were the standard mid-2010s pair: active clicking to do the killing, idle progression to keep it going while you were away.

What the loop felt like

You clicked, and a Teemo died. The kill targets were champion icons rather than original art, a roster that per the site's own asset folders included faces like Akali, Darius, Draven and Riven alongside the mascot everyone actually came for. Click enough and the progression ticked over on its own, the way mid-2010s browser idles did. That's Teemo Slayer.

The other half of the loop was communal. The subreddit tracked the project's ups and downs, the Wikia documented what existed, and the whole thing stayed small enough that a single fan wiki could describe it end to end. The game was the joke, and the joke was the community. That's Teemo Slayer.

Where it stumbles

The honest answer is that it stumbled into silence. Posts on the subreddit describe the game as outdated and possibly abandoned well before the site itself died, the developer is recorded as a team rather than a named studio, and no changelog or roadmap survives to date any of it. One gap matters for preservation: no Teemo portrait ever existed in the game's assets, and the champion icon files fail to load even on the Wayback capture, so this entry runs on the recovered favicon and says so plainly instead of borrowing Riot's art.

Playing it today

You cannot play it. The primary site is dead, the archived capture is a snapshot rather than a server, and nothing indicates a revival. For living idles with a comparable sense of humor, Cookie Clicker remains the genre's browser standard, and our abandoned section collects more of these resurrected curiosities.

The verdict

A defunct fan game preserved at logo scale, with its IP caveat attached and its gaps stated plainly: the niche's consensus, archived.
