The Idle Class
An incremental descent into the nightmare of capitalism: cartels, business goals, and Garry the cat.
by Small Gray Games · November 2018 · Web (smallgraygames.com)
The Idle Class is Small Gray Games' capitalism satire, formerly titled Business Simulator, self-described as an incremental descent into the nightmare of capitalism, and mechanically sincere about it: 55 upgrades, 105 achievements, business goals, and cartels you can form. It is live and playable at smallgraygames.com (verified 200, 200KB page).
What the loop feels like
You start a business, the business hires managers, and the managers form a cartel. That's The Idle Class.
Playing it today
Free at the official page, with four assets above: the 4167px logo, the 4608px studio logo, the favicon, and Garry, the fake-corp mascot cat. No official screenshots exist (no og:image; canvas/DOM-rendered; not on itch), and both dead ends are documented: the itch page 404s and theidleclass.com is a parked lander.
The verdict
A sharp, complete satire with a mascot and a cartel mechanic: the genre's capitalism critique, playable instead of printable.
