Tower Walker: MMO Grind Simulator
An offline singleplayer fake-MMO about grinding a living tower: 20+ classes, unlimited enchanting, companions and faction infamy, all the MMORPG loop with none of the other people.

Tower Walker: MMO Grind Simulator asks a question every burnt-out MMO player has muttered at 3am: what if the grind was the whole product, minus the subscription, the queue times and the other people? Raptor Claw Games, the studio behind Dino Nest and Boxing School, shipped this semi-idle auto-grinder in February 2023. You create a hero, send them into a huge ancient tower that is secretly a living evil being, and the game grinds loot, levels and faction infamy while you supervise. It holds a Mostly Positive rating from players who wanted precisely that supervision-shaped experience.

What the loop feels like
Your hero walks into the tower, fights something above their weight class, and dies or barely wins. That's Tower Walker.
You come back with better gear, a new skill from the trainer, and a companion whose buffs tip the fight. That's Tower Walker.
A floor that was a wall yesterday is now a farming route, and you are already picking which boss to hate next. That's Tower Walker, and it is the MMO floor-by-floor experience compressed into an offline loop that never logs you out.
The systems under the tower
The character layer is unusually deep for an idler: three starter classes opening into over 20 classes, five expertise grades for weapons and armor, and skills learned at trainers. The loot layer is the classic dopamine engine: weapons, armor, rings and artifacts drop continuously, and old-school enchanting has no limits, so the min-max ceiling is yours to chase. Crafting is fully recipe-based, merchants and secret vendors handle the economy, and a shared stash with up to 18 character save slots turns alts into a legitimate strategy rather than a gimmick.
The world layer is what separates it from a menu simulator. Bosses grant infamy with enemy factions, companions level up and bring combat abilities of their own, and the quest journal layers normal and heroic tasks over the grind to drip-feed lore about the eternal master and King Belmont's doomed expeditions. Progression is semi-idle by design: you steer indirectly, the hero fights automatically, and the developer keeps the journey alive through expansions, with the Ocean Depths raid instance and its normal, heroic and brutal modes on the roadmap.

Where it stumbles
Grind simulators are honest about their vice, but honesty does not make the repetition vanish: the tower's floors are variations on a theme, and the presentation leans utilitarian rather than spectacular. Players expecting hands-on combat will find indirect control a weird first hour. The balance between idle throughput and active decisions shifts over long sessions, and the endgame currently leans on expansions to keep the runway open, so completionists should track the roadmap. None of this dents the core appeal for the audience it names in its own title.
Playing it today
Live on Steam for Windows at a mid-tier price, fully offline singleplayer with Steam Cloud and achievements. The platform check found no iOS or Android release by the same developer, so there is no legitimate mobile version to link. Hundreds of hours of content per the developer, and the community's long-session reports back that up.
The verdict
The closest thing to playing a 2004 MMORPG's progression system as a standalone product, with the social overhead surgically removed. It is not the deepest incremental on Idle Index, but as a loot-and-level idle RPG it is generous, constantly updated, and weirdly soothing. For another grind-forward RPG loop, Swag and Sorcery makes a good companion, and for pure automation depth, NGU Industries goes much wider.
