Evil Hunter Tycoon
The heroes fight the Dark Lord. You own the tavern, the forge, and every gold coin they spend getting ready.
by SuperPlanet · 17 Mar 2020 · iOS / Android
The RPG heroes get all the glory, and Evil Hunter Tycoon gives the innkeeper the franchise. SuperPlanet's free town-management RPG from March 2020 puts you in charge of a village destroyed by the Dark Lord, rebuilt entirely around the hunters who pass through: you build the taverns and blacksmiths, sell them gear and potions, and let them wander off to die productively against monsters. You are not the hero. You are the economy the hero shops at.
What the loop feels like
A hunter rolls into town with random class and tier, rests at the inn, buys potions at your shop, and marches into the wilderness under their own AI. They slash monsters, grab loot, limp home at low health, and spend the winnings at your blacksmith. You set the prices, forge the equipment, and quietly tax the whole cycle. That's Evil Hunter Tycoon.
The long game is hunter development and revenge. Bounty hunts send squads after monsters for experience and items, the Academy teaches secret techniques, and at level 100 a hunter can reincarnate through the Sanctuary of Resurrection, coming back stronger and endlessly. Eventually the town marches on the Darkness Front Yard and the guild raids the Dark Lord's own Molar. That's Evil Hunter Tycoon.
How it actually works
The engine is an indirect-management town sim. Hunters arrive with randomised classes, Berserkers, Rangers, Sorcerers and Paladins, across Normal, Rare, Superior and Legendary tiers, with random passive traits like Fast Runner dictating long-term viability. They act autonomously: hunting, looting, retreating when low on health or mana, and spending gold in your facilities, which makes your control indirect, expressed through town construction, crafting, pricing and AI and potion rules. The town layer covers the Infirmary, Restaurant, Tavern, Inn, Blacksmith and Weapon Shop, plus the Bounty Hut, Academy, Enhancement Forge, Training Ground and Sanctuary of Reincarnation. Outside content spans dungeons for rare materials, field bosses, PvP against other towns' hunters, the Darkness Front Yard portal defense and guild raids.
Where it stumbles
The community's affection is real and so is its frustration. High-tier play leans heavily on RNG, with trait rolls and progression checks that players flatly call an RNG mess, and past the standard difficulties the Chaos tiers pivot into an aggressive, monotonous grind demanding immense patience. Boost-level progression draws similar complaints. The counterweight is longevity: the early-to-mid game remains genuinely engaging, developers have kept injecting updates including new characters, Abyss modes and pets, and fans compare the loop to the classic Majesty kingdom sim, which is exactly the right reference.
Playing it today
Free on both stores with in-app purchases, actively updated years after launch, and positively rated by its niche audience across hundreds of ratings. Get it on the App Store for iOS or on Google Play for Android. For more indirect hero management, our Grand Hotel Mania entry serves guests instead of adventurers, and Age of Apes runs the town-building war loop with monkeys.
The verdict
A distinctive hunter-economy sim that scratches the Majesty itch on a phone, priced in patience and RNG. Survive the Chaos tiers or simply enjoy running the world's most profitable tavern.
