Make More!

Pound the table, caffeinate the bosses, and whip an assembly line of 220 collectible workers toward THE BIG BOSS.

by Bad Crane · 21 Feb 2019 · iOS / Android

The boss in Make More! motivates employees the traditional way: by pounding the table and yelling. This is, the game assures you, positive motivation. Bad Crane's frantic factory idle puts you in charge of wacky managers, a circus clown here, a medieval king there, each whipping an assembly line of 220 collectible workers toward ever sillier products, all under the distant judgment of THE BIG BOSS. It is the office comedy version of an idle game, and it never shuts up.

What the loop feels like

The assembly line starts with Matt, one employee and one order quota. You tap the floor and the workers scramble, producing rubber ducks, then teapots, then monster robots, each product crazier than the last until the demand target is met and the run cashes out. A golden coffee cup arcs across the screen and you tap it for a burst of speed. That's Make More.

The growth comes from people and perks. Hire more workers from the queue at the factory gates, level their speed, replace the unproductive ones with robots, and hand a manager a coffee or an energy drink to supercharge the floor. Eighties disco music plays, the employees dance while assembling, and a new factory opens with a new wacky boss. That's Make More.

How it actually works

The core loop is a demand-quota production cycle: each factory runs a strict order quota for a specific product, and meeting the target completes the run, pays out, and pivots to a new product. Frenzied tapping drives worker output, with hired managers automating and supercharging floor speed to cut down manual tapping, and work-table upgrades raising individual output. Random bonus events, flying objects and golden coffee cups, inject temporary cash spikes for quick fingers, and boost items like coffee, energy drinks and disco music modify productivity. The meta layer runs wide: 220 collectible workers with Employee of the Day awards, product and trophy collections, multiple simultaneous factories, weekend Time Challenge events, and a prestige system that restarts you with better workers, better bonuses and better everything.

Where it stumbles

The incremental community's file on it is short and consistent. Scaling to later factories demands exponential grinding for marginal multipliers, the complaint that dates back to launch. Prestige mechanics have pain points, with premium currency and some upgrades not persisting through resets as players feel they should, which forces careful budgeting the comedy does not advertise. And as a long-term incremental it simply has not evolved: compared with modern idle games, its automation and endgame are thin, and it plays today very much as it did in the mid-2010s.

Playing it today

Free on both stores with in-app purchases, still running with weekend Time Challenge events, and positively rated by its audience across hundreds of ratings. Get it on the App Store for iOS or on Google Play for Android. For factory management with actual engineering, our Assembly Line 2 entry routes real products through real conveyors, and Cookie Clicker is where all this table-pounding started.

The verdict

A loud, funny assembly-line clicker that turns middle management into a tap sport. Great for commutes, dated as a hobby, and still the funniest version of workplace yelling available on a phone.
